OLED or LCD steam deck

| I'm thinking of a buying a steam deck this January but is the OLED model actually worth it or should I just stick with LCD?

| While im content with my lcd steam deck, if you play on playing games while away from home or away from an outlet the OLED model may be a better pick for you

| Plan on playing*

| Only for the B L A C K S

>If you've only played on lcd monitors it's pretty neat, same as the Nintendo screen I hear but higher frames

| Oled has a much better screen, and a newer CPU that's basically the same but more energy efficient so less heat slightly longer battery life

The LCD screen was the weakest part of the og

If you can afford it the OLED is probably the way to go but I got a launch LCD and I'm happy with it so ymmv

| better exhaust füüme

| Oled

| One of the few drawbacks of the OLED is that Windows dual boot support is much worse due to lacking drivers. If you plan to play some games that have anticheat like Star Rail, Fortnite, etc. which need Windows, it's not going to be a good experience whereas it works fine on the LCD version. The Windows experience on the LCD is fine, so this may not even be an issue soon once they push out the OLED drivers.

If that is no issue, just grab the OLED.

| Buying OLED.

| idk OLED is not as durable as IPS

| >>991362 you will replace this device 7 years or earlier probably. These screeens don't have any IP and cooling is on top (easy to get dust etc. when outside)

A lot phones have OLED and most of these screens don't have any big problem with "ghosting" (anyway it's not permanent but temporal state)

OLED have perfect black color, and i think it's definitely worth to buy. I sadly have OG Steam Deck and regret it little now but my future pc handheld would definitely need it
