It sounds like a weird oxymoron, I know. But I felt this ever since buying Baldur's Gate 3.
To be clear, I'm enjoying BG3. And I believe my friends who say it's massive enough to justify the full price... so why do I feel like I should not have bought it?? I don't know if it's my indecisiveness, if I'm not used to casually spending 60-70 USD, or if it's something in my subconscious. Games & money are a weird thing. Help, I'm confused with what I want.

>>990289 i can't believe i reply to this bait but let's go
Prices aren't objective but are measure of demand and supply. Videogames have infinite supply (digital) so real measure is demand. Do a lot people want it? We can allow make high/standart price tag. Do people don't want spend 60€ for this game? We can make it slowly 50, 40, 30 etc.. you don't want game? It's all right there are thousands of other games what you can pick from, can be better and cheaper because they are old

>>990297 but I actually did want to play BG3. I love RPGs! So it's weird that I'm second guessing how I spent money on it.

>>990305 if it's what you want to play than just get it.. Baldurs gate isn't kind of game what i would pay for.. but oppositely not many people would buy fatal frame port as i did.. depends on you

Are you sad about the opportunity cost? Like, with the same amount you can buy two/three other games that you think you'll enjoy more?
Do you need that money for something more important? Like, you can't go to an event or you can't eat out as often as you'd like?
Maybe it's like, you know you don't have the time/attention span/anything to experience the game to its fullest, so it doesn't feel like it fulfill the full price?

Like, if you'll be okay without the big money you spent on it, don't worry about it. You've supported the people making a good game. That's worth something.
If you actually need the money though, it's time to reconsider your spending habit.

I mean Yeah, I think this is just through for really any purchase for me that goes above 50$. I get scared that I might be binge spending/being careless

>>990407 that's been my copium. I told myself "People who made a complete game with a lot to do and no corporate BS deserve the money". And all my friends certainly love it. I always did like supporting creators.

A lot of these replies helped me get a better understanding about why I feel what I felt.
Maybe there are other games that would have appealed to me more. Or I might not have the time to experience BG3 at its fullest (it's a massive game, after all). And buying any games more than my usual budget is certainly anxiety-inducing.
Thanks, g/u/rls!

I was almost in the same boat as you since I wanted to buy bomb Rush cyber funk, but I decided instead to buy pizza tower, cruelty Squad, and Ultra kill. Ultimately I found the three games to be more fun, but I understand the price of bombrush because of the graphics and of hiring the talent behind the Music

you're having trouble describing the lack of soul in modern gaming because it's been so long since you played a game that had it

I bought the Le Sserafim skin for Kiriko in Overwatch, I really like the game and the skin, is also the first time I ever paid for a game cosmetic and, I don't know, it fells both good and bad.
