Swapping Between my Switch & Steam Deck After the Hype

So, I have had my steam deck for nearly a year now, and since getting it have moved to another country where it has become my most powerful gaming device. However, I also brought my switch mostly intended for Fire Emblems and party games.
I wanted to share my thoughts with you g/u/rls about my experiences using both devices now that my hype for the deck has died down.

I played my switch for the first time in like 8 months after playing mostly my steam deck, and was amazed at how much lighter the switch is. Even though the deck is far more ergonomic I would rather hold the switch after 5 minutes just because its so much lighter.
Then I got in game on my switch and realized WHY the deck is so much heavier. The switch is a joke in comparison. I had truly forgotten just how low-power the switch is graphically.

Running FE 3 Hopes was like getting a smack in the face after playing through Mass Effect Legendary Edition on the deck. With the steam deck dated games look great on its smaller screen. On the switch new games look dated even on its smaller screen. Also my joy-con's A button is dying just over a year after getting it replaced for stick drift, despite barely using it in that time.

I don't have a point to give you g/u/rls. But in essence, I hope the Switch 2 comes out soon, that it can play switch games and that it is an at least 100% improvement over the switch. Because I want to play my stupid Nintendo exclusives without being distracted at how much worse the hardware is compared to my alternatives.

>>958994 silly OP, Nintendo says stick drift doesn't exist. It must just be a figment of your imagination, cause Nintendo wouldn't lie. :)

>>958995 sounds like you need to emulate your Switch games on your deck

This actually makes me feel better about my Switch because I already think it's pretty heavy. It's comfortable enough in my small hands, I don't think I'll like the Deck as much.

>>959075 in the US at least they will repair joycons free of charge so they're very aware it's an issue they just refused to acknowledge it for a year or so

OP Here
>>959395, yup I was living in the US and that's what I did. Took awhile but at least it was totally free.
>>959228 I have been doing a lot of emulating on my steam deck, but not for my switch games. With the emulation overhead the games don't really run better at least in my fairly limited experience.
>>959253 Yes, the deck is definitely better suited to large hands. I have bigger hands and it still feels slightly too large.
