Hello i'm thinking about to buy Switch Lite for 160-210$ (i'm little hope in discount again, second is standart price in my country) but there are few things what i want to know..
1. Are are main cons with compare to normal Switch? I know that i cant connect it to tv, i'm ok with it.. and i can't probably play things as Sports, 1-2-3 Switch, Just Dance etc without controllers (if i understand) but if i wanted to, i can buy controllers, game anytime and play on small display right?

2. I'm wanting to play fall guys, classic games, things as tetris 99.. so this i would get "free" with Nintendo Online for 20$/50$.. but i'm thinking about first party games too of course as mario kart, breath of the wild, animal crossing and so.. what is cheapest way how to play games? are there some regular discounts in online store? or is maybe better to buying physical copies? 3. is there anything else what i need to know? ^^
thank you!

so, in reference to switch full v lite, i reccomend saving for the full version the full version is already pocket sized and saves you having to buy an extra set of joycons, plus having the tv functionality is neat for some games, especially party games the first party games tend to remain at full price, rarely going on discount for no reason, but are also worth the full price in my opinion

the switch lite isnt a bad console, but youll be spending anothr 80 bucks on an official set of joycons anyway if you go for the lite+joycons, and the full size just feels better to play on than the lite

If you think you'll want to play on TV / multiplayer / exercising gams at all, I suggest just getting the normal Switch. But if you don't, the Lite is great, feels very comfortable in my hands.
I don't know where you live but where I am, games that are >40 USD are much cheaper physical than digital. Check your local stores. Also consider buying used copies.
The eshop often has discounts though, and a lot of games are digital only. Some indies can go down to a dollar.

Why get a Switch when the Steam Deck exists? Throw an emulator on there, and play all the Switch games you want on real hardware.

>>949767 that last bit is very true
while i personally havent seen many main nintendo ip games go on sale digitally(and can be wrong), just about every other game does i picked up dragon ball fighter z for like 5 bucks at some point if i remember correctly, one of those main nba games for 2, and indies can sometimes go on sale for even less than a dollar if you get lucky

>>949769 there is an arguement to be made for the steam deck if youre an enthusiast looking for a performance increase and larger game catelog, but if youre a more casual gamer not looking to min-max performance or youre looking for a party game console, the switch still performs quite well
better performing hardware and pc catelog for the solo enthusiast, or pretty good hardware in a more portable form for casual and party gaming using the decent switch catelog

I still have Wii and Wii U.. so i somehow don't feel need about party games but i just wanted to know if is there alternative option if i wanted to anytime in future.. I just don't know people what would care about Nintendo so Lite is enough for me..
>>949769 exclusives tbh.. i already have steam deck, i just miss kart, and want to play some cute games

i want switch lite, because i want it as handheld honestly, i can see better on close distance.. and it seems more comfortable to use in hand i feel.. also i really like turquoise color and so, maybe i'm childish xd and price seems really nice, it's similar as i paid for Vita. Maybe i'm thinking weirdly.. sadly in my country is even Xbox more successful than Switch, and we have poor physical games distribution.. but prices are seems similar as i look.. it hurts little xd

>>949777 Steam Deck has sold over 1mil units. It's no longer just an "enthusiast" device. The value proposition of a Deck compared to... literally any other handheld cannot be overseen. In terms of price to catalogue, the Deck is unbeatable. And as far as the price of the games goes? You could be paying $70 for new games, or you could emulate the same games for free on the Steam Deck. Nintendo games famously never go on sale VS. Steam - the platform literally known for their sales.

Idk, I'm not a handheld gamer. I don't game on the go. But with a machine like the Steam Deck available for the price it's at, it's *really* difficult to justify buying anything else right now. No one has an answer to the Steam Deck. It's legitimately just the best there is in every category.

>>949815 i bought steam deck at day of announcement, but personally i can say that it's for enthusiasts. 1 million is good milestone, but in "console wars" it's drop of water. Switch=122 millions, Vita=10-15M, Wii U=13M, PS4=117M, 2DS= (yes that flat thing) 9.68M etc. PC-98 had 18 millions sold units. It's awesome concept, but sadly over that friendly price and all-in-one simple design, it will have difficult future since it's pc.

I think that i will going to buy it since it's in nice discount (184 $/€) and playing fall guys, chocobo and retro games over online service.. but i don't know how i will buying games.. 10-20€ is understandable, but higher price tags are little overkill.. maybe i will try find if exists second hand options or so.. but 40€ for mario kart from 2014 or 50€ for animal crossing feel weird..

i feel that i will ignnore it over that how cute and cheap hw it is.. i think that i will have higher fun with my Wii U, and wait for new Nintendo console.. and than maybe buy Switch when all switch games will be discounted or buy new one if it will catch me.. i was discovering Wii U games today, and after playing mario kart i somehow remember how awesome console it is.. just i feel sad about online service, but i can live without it i guess
