Mine's are Quake and Dusk, recommend the latter fondly a lot for those who never heard of it. Other less obvious recommendations I have are >Wrath: Aeon of Ruin >Xonotic >Hedon: Bloodrite >Dread Templar

Quake or Xonotic for multiplayer.
System Shock for singleplayer. If that one doesn't count I'll pick Blood or Hedon Bloodrite.

Not sure if it counts as old school for others but I used to play Crossfire a lot at PC Cafes when I was kid, the game was pretty much just a copycat of CS with very weird extra gamemodes, gimmicks, and weapons, but the weirdness was part of the fun.

is Halo Combat Evolved an Old School Shooter already?
Post number #926399, ID: 7d5e71

>>926395 It has nothing to do with age, its more of a design choice that died with the 90s and was ridiscovered last decade thanks to the spike in popularity of doom modding. Tldr: Halo is old school but I meant another, older, school

Doom, just from the sheer vast amount of custom WADS there are out there. But other notable games would have to be Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, and PowerSlave.

Despite having played a lot of Quake I never tried Dusk. What makes Dusk good anyway?

>>927073 It's like Quake but way smoother cause it's, yk, not 30 years old Just fast af and jump around shooting klan members and shit with some pretty good level design and solid weapons, it's fire
