| I stand corrected: New dialogue lines have Bridget identifying as a girl now. At first glance, I was sad to see it. I liked having our confident femboy representing. But upon consideration, this step does make logical sense. It'll take a bit to get used to, but I'm fine with this. Bridget's taking a step forward.

It won't be handled well, and it's honestly kinda fucking dumb and does not make logical sense. The whole point of Bridget's arc before was that he didn't need to fit the stereotypical ideas of masculinity to be a man, and this both directly undermines that, contradicts previous characterization, and it retreading old ground because his previous arc was about his gender. There's a dozen other things they could have done, but the lore comes from Mr Fucking-3-Year-Olds-Is-OK

| It's igniting a layered argument amongst people, and no outcome is good. There are those that have genuinely bad views who will speak against it, then those with well-placed hearts who will embrace it, then those with a strong understanding of Bridget's backstory and the powerful message her presence provided before who will point out the poor foresight in this change but be lumped in with the first party just the same.
I want to like this change. But it feels like the wrong move.

| I fail to see the reason for this change. It can't be because they need her to keep dressing up as a girl, feminine guys are a thing. And if they wanted to appeal more to a western audience through more LGBTQ+ representation, they already have Testament.
It also contradicts her whole character too.
I guess Ishiwatari just couldn't think of anything interesting and Mori was like "make her trans lmao maybe it'll be cool" across the office.
