They tend to have the most polarizing opinions. What's your favorite water level? What's your least favorite water level?
I'll state Gloomy Galleon from DK64 as my least favorite, just because swimming in that game was Not Good. Favorite would be Vash'jir, from Cataclysm. Everyone else hated it on a primal wavelength, but I was enraptured by it.

The endless ocean games are entirely water level and they're basically perfect

I like swimming in Zelda Twilight Princess. Much better underwater control that in most other games. I don't really remember what the associated dungeon was like, but it wasn't bad.

I'm actually a big fan of the water temple in Zelda:OoT. Took me a while to figure out but I enjoyed it. Least favorite water level might be the flooded strut section in MGS2

I think everyone likes that one underwater level from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I hate how low the water levels at Lake Mead are now. The Industrial Revolution and its consequences are going to stretch the Mojave to the Pacific - it's already begun.

Water Palace from Sonic Rush is a love-hate situation, as I started hating it because at some specific points the traps to bottom-less pits where insanely troll and precise. But once I learnt how to avoid them or got better at the game the level is really fun, and the remake in Sonic Generations (3DS) was really fun too.

I liked when Guild Wars 2 had an underwater pvp map but everyone else hated it. :( Kingdom Hearts Atlantis is an actually terrible water map tho

Sonic 3 had technically the first and last good water levels in a Sonic game.
Angel Island, Carnival Night, Launch Base have some water parts in them which can be avoided entirely.
Hydrocity Zone on the other hand is an entirely water zone and it provides a nice gameplay.
To be honest, I don't like Aquatic Ruins Zone and I prefer Labirynth zone overall (not saying that LZ is good)
3D games generally lack watet levels which is lame.

Oh right, Chemical Zone is also a water level partially, however it gets tedious on first attempts.

The ancient cistern in Skyward Sword is definitely the best water dungeon in any Zelda game. World 3 in Mario 3 as well as the Mega Man series and both Mario Galaxy games are also pretty good with water levels, although there are no standouts among them.

>>883499 I didn't mind the Water Temple on my first playthrough, but when I came back years later to go through the game again it was the most tedious shit ever.

Devil May Cry had by far the most ham-fisted, annoying water level with the FPS section. Literally no reason for it to be there.

Megaman legends 2 water level is fuuuucked, youre underwater and walk so damn slow. At least you can jetboost your way on the floor, but things could still have been easier. And when you get hit and knocked back by enemies, godamn u fall and recover so much slower.
