I have no idea how they managed to fit the game in there. The game won't even run >20 fps in the PC I only replaced a few months ago. Good for them, though.

The PC port of NieR is actually extremely poorly optimized. So if the game ran bad on your PC it might've been due to that. There are mods that fix it tho. It still surprises me that it's gonna be on the Switch and I'm very curious to see how well it'll run.

>>876815 I ran it at somewhat consistent 30 fps, at 720p on an mid-low tier office laptop. it would go to the mid 20s in wider areas or some boss fights. Obv this is an educated guess considering different architectures etc. But I don't think the switch would be too from off from it. They should have ported drakengaurd 3, they could have bullshited any performance issues by saying it was for an authentic experience.

Played Nier:A on PC, wasn't a day one player, though; bought it at 50% disc, installed the FAR/performance mod immediately and it ran flawlessly on my mid range 2016 PC.
That one time I preorder a game, it was Yakuza 0 PC. Played it day 1, the audio desync and the game tick is broken, so button mashing is unwinable. A week after I finished the game, all bugs are fixed. So yeah... I'd rather wait a bit before playing console port games. Probably will do the same with Persona 5.

I'm glad it's coming to Switch (games being ported to more platforms is always a good thing), but I highly doubt it will be an optimal experience on the console. They'll need to make some visual downgrades to compensate (Like Doom did), and I just hope those changes manage to achieve consistent performance.

At least NieR Automata doesn't need to be too pretty, what with its ruined cities broken machines aesthetic. I play The Witcher 3 on Switch and while I love being able to play on my bed, this isn't the beautiful-looking game PC player know it as.
Witcher 3's performance is pretty good, but NieR Automata is considerably more action-focused. I hope they optimize it well.
