Ni No Kuni Cross Worlds

| The game has finally been out outside of japan for a couple of days now, have you guys played it yet? if so what's your opinion?

| Haven't played it but I heard about its insidious cryptocurrency trashfire. Not gonna touch it with a ten foot pole.

| Disney being a slut to china censoring gay and black people.

Now we get ghibli whoring it out to crypto bros.

| >>865383 I don't believe Ghibli is related to Ni No Kuni beside perhaps animation or inspiration. I blame Level-5 studios and not Ghibli.

| >>865375 exactly what I would've done had I known about the crypto stuff before deciding to play. Alas, I don't feel like quitting now that I'm in a guild.

The game makes me question wtf am I doing with my life since it literally plays itself. Or rather, your character moves fights automatically by default. Still, once you've gone through several hours of the main story (it ain't good btw) you get to unlock several game modes and features that make the game quite rich in content

| Eventually you reach a point where you actually need to improve your character in order to progress through the story. This is done by completing achievements (which are more like tasks or benchmarks, really) and stuff like completing your codex; the game kinda resembles a really grindy collectathon in a way.

All in all it ain't so bad once you've unlocked most of the game mechanics, but if someone asked me if they should play it, I'd tell them to stay away and save themselves

| >>865467 Really sad to see another Level-5 franchise end like this. Fantasy Life, too, is now (from what I've heard) a pretty greedy and bad gacha game

| >>865479
Honestly it wasn't that good to begin with, the first game was pretty awful and I heard the second one was worse

| >what if Studio Gibli made a game. I mean, a good game this time.

| >>865475
So it's just a mindless little timesink then? Eh, I guess there are appeals to that, what with the comfy aesthetic and all. Shame about the predatory undercurrents.

| >>865467 Oh, I know it is not developed by ghibli, but one glance at the art, ghibli fans can tell they are involved. Also, the first game was heavily advertised as ghibli entering game industry.

Now sepaking of the dev, they've been around in the industry for decades and still not as sucessful as other JRPG Studios, let's take platinum games and how sucesfull nier automata is, for an example. I think that's why they try the NFT thingy.

I thought Cross Worlds was developed by Netmarble? Level 5 only licensed it out? I suppose they'd need Level 5's approval to do all the cryptocurrency bullshit though, so this is still on them.

CMIIW, Studio Ghibli's involvement began and ended with the first game. 2 and Cross Worlds got nothing to do with them.

Also Platinum Games is a terrible comparison lmao considering how badly they're doing with Bablyon's Fall.
