so, anyone here have one already? if yes, what are your comments on itself as a whole or just the current build? I'm going to start saving for when it becomes available in my country but in the meanwhile it would be nice to hear people talk shop

I've had mine for over a month now and I quite enjoy it. I'm a big into handheld gaming, so the sheer number of games that can now be played portably is great. As a handheld it's solid, but way too bulky. Obviously the games weren't designed with the Deck in mind, which can lead to spending a lot of time fine tuning controls and settings and shit. Even games that have great ports on other platforms have this issue here because they're PC versions. It's usually not terrible though.

The issue I've run into the most often is that it's so early in its life. With relatively few people owning them, and with me not being very good at technical computer shit, there's some issues that are hard to get clear solutions to. Though this, and many other problems are getting solved pretty quickly as Valve, fans, and developers increase support for it.

Doesn't ship here unless you're willing to pay extortionate amount of money. I'm gonna wait a few years. The Switch is good enough for my portable gaming needs for now.

>>860760 yeah, thought of buying a switch too for a while (even if games for it are expensive), seemed like the best option on the market, but then SD came along and i was all "Sign Me The Fuck Up" i mean, i wouldn't need to buy new games for it separately cause i have a sizable library already and some of the games for it i cannot even run on my laptop anymore! having an option of playing them on the go is a huge plus too, sometimes i just don't have the time or enegry at home

>>860729 i think it's okay as long as the whole thing is as customizible as i hear, with the optimisation settings and all that and at least games with controller support should be alright with some tinkering

>>860730 yeah, the support is rather quick to act, if i hear things right, a lot of software patches coming up and all that as long as the problem is not in the hardware and the mechanics of the console itself then at least it wouldn't render the device unusable
