Probably 2d because cost for dev+art should be a bit lower giving you more room to be an indi game and still profit
But I haven't done the market research to see if ppl are more likely to buy 3d

Probably 3D due to love for shaders. 2D is less to learn but still has a lot of work involved. 3D it's easier to generate environment etc.
