Found this game a couple of days ago and just wanted to recommend it. It's like an old school Fromsoftware game, but without the frustrating parts (or pick hard mode if you are like me and like that :3). Anyways, it's on steam and it's gooooood

Oh interesting. I've recently been watching Thorhighheels's long videos about fromsoftware oldies, and it does look similar.

Thanks for the recommendation. I bought it just now and it's pretty fun after upping the difficulty. Wasn't expecting anime girl portraits though... but the SotN style portraits where a nice option.
Do the different classes effect anything besides your starting stats and resistances? When I tried the thief it seemed to get more drops. The description said vampires are replenished by the shedding of blood so I assumed they had some inherent life steal but no dice so far.

>>844465 What did I do now? I'm not the devs lol. I just wanted to share this game. I'm not seeing a lot of people aware of it, that's all.

>>844535 To be honest, the only class I've tried so far is the Forsaken, so I don't really know. I do know there are items that only Vampires can use, so I guess there is class only stuff around the world to find.

>>844620 You mean other items besides Blood Wine? Cool. Might stick with the vampire then.

It feels like melee is vastly underpowered to everything else. I put 45 points into strenght and 9 in dex and the elven bow is better than all my swords.

Coincidence that you post about Lunacid. I've been on a binge of King's Field games over the past week (just finished IV, working on the original trilogy now), and I've been researching the subgenre as a whole. There really aren't a lot of games out there that fit into that niche. Lunacid was one of the few around, alongside Devil Spire, Monomyth, and Dungeons & Darkness (to name the indie games, at least).

There's also Castle Torgeath and Crypt Of The Serpent King, but those stood out less. It feels like there are incredibly minute distinctions between games feeling like King's Field, or ending up more like Elder Scrolls, or Might & Magic, and it's all very tough to gauge.

Dread Delusion, though... That has my utmost attention. Can't wait for the release of that, it's way up there on my watchlist.

>>5e3fe8 Cool. I've been thinking of playing the King's Field games but I'm afraid I might find them too primitive or monotonous. Maybe it's a good idea to start with 4 and work your way backwards. I know the first one was a launch title so it's probably not that interesting unless you're really into the genre.

>>848587 Holy shit! Dread Delusion seems awesome. I'm the kind of gal who likes to head into games completely blind and spoiler free and I already know I'm gonna play this game... I hope it delivers. In fact, I'm pretty sure it will. It's gonna be a blast!

>>848611 I think IV is best to start with, It's the most polished. But seeing as the first three all follow the same world and overarching story, I'd say to play those in order, if you do. If you enjoy IV, you'll enjoy them all, plus it's neat to see the evolution of a series like that. I'm planning on finishing all of them (including Pilot Style; A 1-hour demo prequel to III), then I'll tackle Shadow Tower, Eternal Ring, then the swan song of the genre last: Shadow Tower Abyss.
