Yes it's called uTorrent and it's a great steam replacement as long as you're using a virtual machine

Download methods hasn't changed much in 10 years, there isn't a reason if they are still popular and work, specially torrents which now you don't even need to install a program to download anything, you can access it on a web browser, something like what Mega does.
