Anyone an Omori gamer? What did you think of the game?

I adore Omocat, but Omori just made me want to go back to Earthbound or even Lisa. Tbf I didn't play very far, but something about it felt off. Great aesthetic, uninteresting gameplay. And maybe a bit too on-the-nose for me. I don't mean to be harsh though. I'm glad it was received so well.

It was an overall nice game. Most of the fighting was insanely easy replaying it.

>>826983 the other games you mentioned didn't twist the rpg gameplay formula too interestingly either. I thought the emotion system was cool but whatever floats your boat.

I have mixed feelings about the game. I love the characters so much but the ending is too impersonal. Like I spend so much with this friend group and seeing how Kel, Hero, and Aubrey react to the truth is too much to ask? Come on Omocat don't leave me hanging.

>>827080 I don't disagree, although I wouldn't necessarily fault the games of yesteryear for that. I guess I'm just looking for something more in 2022. To be fair to Omori, I don't think the point of it was to "revolutionize" RPG systems lol.

>>827083 that's fair. I think rehashing popular gameplay works because there will be always someone new to the scene as long as we keep breeding. It's a weird thing to think about but a random indie RPG could be someone's Final Fantasy and your criticism won't make sense to them lol

It was pretty good. It kinda dragged on too long towards the middle-end (Last Resort and Humphrey especially). Also some things about the ending and the main twist didn't really make sense, but still, it was pretty good.

I really liked it but I agree that it was missing something. The art was great, the plot was great, the pacing was great, the characters were incredible, and so on for every category I could think of. But that was true for LISA and that game had a lot more of an impact on me.
Anyways I think I'm in love with Basil.

>>827080 I thought the combo input for some moves in Lisa was cool, moreso than the emotion system, but whatever floats your boat. Also the movement is pretty unique from a RPGM game

>>827080 I'm hoping omocat makes another game with the same art and design and character building as omori

At first it's great, then the battles becomes boring and you start seeing plotholes in the story. Still a very good game that can make you feel some emotions, and that's what matters, I guess.
