Little spoiler warning for: late/post game weapon aspects and mechanics. No story spoilers.
So, not long after the last thread I made a few weeks ago, I put the game down for about a week. Then I started again. And now I think I've almost doubled my playtime and, holy shit this game is good!
Just cleared all bounties (beating 21 difficulty levels) for sword since I already cleared spear. I've started getting the hidden aspects. I have companions and shit. Like, how?

How does this game keep getting better? The 6 base weapons already have a lot of variation due to playing completely differently to eachother and having 3 different aspects each that slightly change the playstyle of them. But now the hidden aspects to them at well that just completely change the weapon?
I'm just blown away by how this game started off as a top tier game, yet still somehow gets better the more I play!
Any of you g/u/rls had a similar experience with this game?

hold up hold up you've only gotten the hidden aspects NOW? lol have fun

>>801621 Yeah. I've met the conditions needed to get most of them for a really long time. Just never got any of the dialogue needed until, like, last week. Still missing two. I will!

>>801712 As >>801713 said, they always have been. But, no. I'm so close though! I just need one more interaction at the house to fully get going for the romance, but he's always either not there or talking to someone. Like, for the last 10+ runs!

yeah the dialogue hunt can totally be a bitch and a half lol well at least it gives time to farm some resources or nectar/ambrosia needed, esp since most people don't have a guaranteed chance of showing up on a run, so...

btw one of the most genius thing SG did gameplay-wise is how they implemented their favoured (since bastion and transistor both) limiters system by making it bounty-based and more..close to the story, or something like that seems like a natural evolution of the idea and polished to a shine the only thing I'm iffy about is the inability to buy darkness (are there special offers for it?) at the lounge, since you can both spend it there and freely exchange any other resouce imaginable

>>803026 I completely agree! It's absolutely genius, and I think a lot of developers should take not from SG. And, for the darkness, I kinda get it. Like, it's a resource that you can get flooded with super quick once you've played a bit. If you've beaten the game at least once, the bosses drop mad darkness. So if you do a run with the weapon that has the darkness +20% multiplier and get Poseidon or Chaos' +50% darkness gain (or both) you'll have more than you know what to do with.

You can easily get 2k darkness in a single run if you know what to go for. Like, you get almost 1k just going through it without any multipliers.
>>803016 And, yeah. It can be a bitch, but I don't really mind honestly. Makes the game feel a bit more dynamic in a way, and because of it I had enough resources to do the cool things as they happened.

>>803071 yeah, sorry, I'm just salty about having to wait and grind for nyx's quest haha >>803072 anyway, any reason to do more runs is a good reason, the thing about buying darkness is just an observation how it's like the only thing you cannot do regularly, esp if you need it and have a lot of other unneeded materials
Post number #803104, ID: ff3256

>>803088 Yeah, that's completely understandable. It is sort of weird that it isn't really tradeable aside from special offers. I'm sure there's a good reason though. Because of how much of it you can gain and how easily you can get it I think it would be super hard to balance it properly. Like, it would probably break the economy of the game quite a bit.
But I get the frustration of course. The Nyx quest was definitely super expensive.

Gosh. The Nyx quest was so long ago for me I barely remember it. I never really had problem with it. I just did runs as I normally do and suddenly oh, I have enough Darkness? Here you go.
Different topic: how are you liking the hidden aspects, op?

>>803105 Hehe. Was pretty resent for me, but I just did one grind run and played a couple normal ones and it was all goodie!
I'm liking them a lot! I have sword, spear, bow and gun ones so far. They're ridiculously strong, but not super unbalanced, and I like that a lot. Like, they're super unique and really cool and kinda ridiculous, but the normal aspects are still viable. But, yeah! I think they're lots of fun. Especially Arthur and Lucifer.

Arthur is just, broken. Big sword and protective circle is such a cool thing to work with and feels good when you do the big slices. 50 extra hp too! So, that one is goodie.
And then Lucifer is just insane! Only done, like, 2 runs with it so far since I like to clear one weapon at a time, but having just a big laser beam is really nice. You can do so much interesting stuff with those mines too! It's just a super interesting weapon with how it interacts with the boons and stuff.

>>803125 Dang, I can never get used to the Excalibur. It's just too heavy for me, and I like to play fast. Good to know other people can like it tho.
How do you like Guan Yu's spear? I know this one is a beginner killer but a lot of experts like it.
Post number #803174, ID: ff3256

>>803168 It took a little bit to get used to. I didn't think I'd like heavy, but then I started one hitting half a room in one swipe + the circle play is just super fun. Definitely feels a bit slow though, and I get not liking it.
Well, I'm not very expert. I've only played it on lowest level upgrade though, so I literally didn't have health. I think I'd like it fully upgraded and after a few runs with it, but definitely not my favourite.

So, I just finished the true/second/post-ending ending (idk what to call it), but, damn I love this game. Won't say anything about it because, well, I don't wanna spoil any story stuff. But it's sick, and it's fun, and I like this game a lot. Can ya'll tell that I have a borderline unhealthy fixation with this game? Is my autism showing?
Anyways, game good. If anyone's got anything they'd like to say about the game, if anyone has something about it they wanna talk about, do it!

hades is the game where on one hand I wish there was DLC so we could get more of the game but on the other hand there's so much game there already that DLC might be seen as going overboard

>>2ffa75 idk, I guess I just wish I could see even more of the world and characters of Hades whilst also supporting supergiant for being fantastic Devs, if not DLC a spin off of some sort would be cool
Post number #803905, ID: ff3256

>>803893>>803894 I get what you mean, yeah. I don't think that's happening though. Supergiant seem to prefer to not work on their games after release. Just polish and perfect it as much as possible first, and then never touch it again. Maybe they'll change that for Hades, but it's unlikely, and I don't think it's necessary either. I mean, the game is absolutely massive and super clean.

>>803893 Some part of me kind of wish there'll be a DLC. Maybe to meet Nemesis and Erebus and Apollo.
But if I think about it, I'd vastly prefer if they work on a completely new game. Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre are all amazing and very different from each other and to Hades. I'd love to see what else they can come up with.

>>803905 considering how long they have been working on hades and supporting the early access plus the ungodly amount of content - yeah i doubt we'll see anything more than tech updates and them ironing out the leftover kinks however they did say (don't remember when and where)that if they ever had good ideas for a sequel to any of their past projects they would not be averse to exploring that, it's just for now they are more interested in new and shiny ideas, we'll see what's next

>>803963 well it's good then that SG tried to represent some gods and heroes in some other way without overbloating the cast and cutting resourses from other characters - like the weapon aspects, items, some other nifty references, and then there's erebus, who, like hades and chaos (as much as cosmos can be a place), is kinda both a god and a place, which hammers down his chtonic nature quite nicely
Post number #803988, ID: aa742e

>>803986 also, is it too meta (in a game with a protagonist aware of his narrator btw) for me to think that erebus is kinda cool for being a primordial deity of darkness and staying out of the narrative limelight? while still being sneaky and Very, VERY relevant through, err, darkness which everyone drips and absorbs everywhere in the underworld? actually that makes his essence being currency for the mirror of night kinda sweet, if you squint and turn a bit to the side
