I'm pretty excited for the games, I love the deep lore and dark undertones of the entire SMT series. Plus a lot of the demon designs in the trailers look wicked awesome.
What do you g/u/rls think?

I am soooooooo hyped up, holy shit. The UI kinda sucks though, but it's not a big deal. And did the MC really need to fucking naruto run? Also I'm gonna miss Mido but Sophia is cool too I guess.

Modern-day SMT at its arguable peak. >Doi's style getting unlocked from the throes of being forced to imitate Kaneko >A protag whose design manages to nail that fine line between Flynn and Nanashi while adding its own flair >An evolution of IV's usage of 3D space >REALLY fucking good animations, solid modelwork >New, more-than-welcome demons >Kozuka presumably doing the OST again >etc. What's there to NOT get excited for?

>>767841 The UI isn't that bad. It *is* admittedly staggering to look at from a preview perspective of sorts, but I assume the game'll ease you into it as always.
(Besides, I'd be lying if I said I dislike the sleek "overdesign" vibes. Kinda charming in its own right.)

The battle UI may be a bit much, but the dialogue UI is fucking hot

Also not a fan of the UI, but, like, mainline SMT isn't really known for having amazing UI. It's not Persona. This is fine.
Hyped for everything else, though. I used to not like the protagonist's design, but I'm warming up to it. Love the new demon designs. Doi's style is great. Basically what >>767844 said.

>>767844 Well, people also hyped up SMT IV years ago. I remember even years before the release date, when the website first launched, people already speculating and hyping it up.
While the game ended up okay, it was nothing more than a mediocre experience.
With SMT V, I am staying away from the hype and wait until I can play it myself.

>>767900 >SMT IV >mediocre experience HEY! Take that back! IV was great!
... ok it was a bit of a mess and level balance is all over the place.
But it was great! If V is even just slightly better than IV, it would already be a fantastic game.
