This post is not an attempt to be quirky or funny or edgy because I haven't played the game, it just hasn't been in my interest, but I always hear it's still somehow in the top 10 or top 5 most sold games every fucking month, so...
Does any of you g/u/rls still have not played GTAV? Why? To those who have played it, tell me about it, mayhaps I get into it with your reccomendation.

I've never played on of the gta games. They're just not something I can enjoy in any way

Not me. It's not my kind of thing.
I think a lot of those numbers are just people buying it again? At this point I won't be surprised if it's part of some money laundering scheme.

I haven't, and probably never will now, seeing what a shit hole it's become.
My last GTA was Vice City.

I've played the intro to 2, 3, and 4, and part of the intro to 5 (enough to test used discs, effectively).
I most enjoy games with unique settings, so GTA just... doesn't click with me. I can play Need For Speed for street racing, I can play Gears Of War for third-person shooting, and I can play Morrowind for open-world shenanigans. GTA combining those (with less developed mechanics) in a normal city setting isn't much of a draw.
I have played a fair deal of Saints Row though...

You ever heard the phrase "life is in the pauses"? That's what every gta game is for me. The missions are fun and going crazy is fun, but really, driving around, listening to the satire on the radio, finding places I haven't visited is the best part.

If you care about multiplayer, the online is fantastic with a group. It might not be when you're relying on randoms, but even then you'll occasionally stumble into people just having a good time, quite rare though. It is very grindy at the start, but Cayo Perico now makes it easy to keep the ball rolling once you're up
Single player is great if you're into those ridiculous 90's action movie crime settings the GTA series is known for, it's quite a ride if that's your cuppa

Ye I grew tired of it after playing VC and SA a lot Nowadays I'd rather play Skyrim or something if I wanna just fuck around

I haven't played it in years but I remember thinking GTAIV was a lot more fun overall.

I've played it through 3 times by today. It's meh. Nothing worthy to do besides the story. The map is big but not a lot of interactions and the AI is dumber from actual Los Angeles folk. Online is a pay to win mess which is just grinding grinding or buying money in game. You also have to pay taxes for having businesses (so much for a criminal

I think you should instead try GTA IV with its episodes or older games. Note that GTA IV on PC still runs horribly. If you've got X360 or PS3, you'll be able to play through it without any hiccups in 720p.
Its story is big and characters are more human than ever in the series (personal note: GTA IV isn't really like other GTA games).
The map may be smaller and pretty boring at first, but you'll be surprised with the NPCs and smaller details placed in.

Playing as a wannabe criminal in a game that tries to make it look cool is just pitiful. I have enough good games to avoid playing this.

Played and beat it a couple times and I'd say it's not that great. If you wanted a GTA game then play San Andreas. Or maybe play something like Saints Row which I thought was a better game.

I played a little GTA 5 on my bro's Xbox; I was disappointed. It felt 'meh' compared to GTA 4.

Only played a bit of GTAV, but stopped after like 10 minutes or so. I never liked how the controls felt in Rockstar games, they feel way too janky for me.

First time I heard controls being an issue in GTAV. By far it's the best in the series
