What's the deal with Pokemon Snap?

| So you can take photos and gain points following a (literal) rail and... what else? why these games are so hyped?

| I'm not really as down on it as OP might be, but I do think the main appeal seems to be the nostalgia people have for the old Pokemon snap game.

I'm not old enough/my family didn't have Nintendo, so I have no nostalgia for snap and even though I like Pokemon I have no excitement for this game and know I won't be getting it.

| "What's the deal with birdwatching? It's just taking picture of birds and figuring out what species they are?"

Photography is fun, even within video games. Pokemon are cute and seeing them just doing their thing can be heartwarming. Going out IRL to take nature photos might not be viable for a lot of people, so this is a good alternative.

Honestly, if it's not 60 american dollars, I'd be tempted to get the game.

| The first game was special because it was like the first game with 3D pokemon. There IS enough gameplay to make it fun.
