Yume nikki is a bonifed classic and everyone should at least try it out since its free
One Shot is also the best more modern rpg maker game i can think of
| Hikkikomori Quest. It's a freeware game by animator Paul Robertson. It's about a shut-in who anxiously goes buys food while battling monster snacks. You also get a game over for talking to certain NPCs.
| Your Turn to Die is great and I will defend it until the day I die. Or until the day the game's actually finished and ends on a mediocre note.
