No post about Valheim yet
| I don't know a single thing about it other than the fact that it's Viking themed.
| I've played a short amount. It feels a little gimmicky, like every part of it is taken from somewhere else. Also, the two bosses I got through weren't super interesting. What I really found fun though were the dungeons, especially with a few friends. It didn't really feel "hard as dark souls," at the beginning at least, it just has dark-souls-like combat.
overall, it's decent, but isn't gonna have the strength to replace any of my group's multiplayer games.
| It's pretty fun! It's a survival game with a bit more focus on combat than other games. Like the other G/u/rl said, it's not as difficult as Dark Souls but the combat system resembles it. With a dodge, roll, slow attacks, and even a parry, all topped by a stamina system. It's not really too similar but it's close enough that it makes you go "ah yeah i get why people would say it resembles DS"

| Ive played it a bunch, for an open world survival game the progression is a bit too linear and can be a bit grindy, with each next set of gear locked behind a boss that usually needs a team of players or a single heavily prepared player
| I don't understand why Valheim is getting the attention it is. What does it do differently from the over 9000 other survival esque crafting games aside from playing as a Nord?
| It is really light on the survival mechanics and puts more of an emphasis on combat and exploration. That's the main thing that sets it apart from other survivals, really.
Like, food isn't even needed. It just boosts your max health and stamina, but if you're just building you don't need more than 25 hp
| These games always look like shit. Would love to pick up any of the survival games but I can't stomach the style
| Valheim is still raw af, it doesnt really have much content (only has 3 bosses) although the progression is nice, ill definitely play it when it comes out whole.

| I don't even know what the game is even about, have seen zero gameplay, from what I know, it's a popular survival game hard as Dark Souls inspired by Zelda Botw and PSX games.
What's /v/'s opinion? is it worth checking any video? or are you g/u/rls enjoying it?
