Depends. If you're F2P, the craftable spears are okay. Crescent Pike for DPS and Prototype for support.
Also, same. I thought I'd play like for a month at most when starting back around the beginning of October. I'm still playing.

f2p = free to play (you don't use money, opposite is p2p or pay to play) DPS = Damage per second, basically the damage you deal Support = i'm guessing secondary choice >>743980

>>743980 Basically if you're planning on making Xiangling a damage-dealer, craft Crescent Pike. If you're making her a support, craft Prototype Starglitter.
But if you're new you really don't have to worry about all that. Just use whichever highest-star weapon you got and level them up reasonably. Explore the world more instead of worrying about weapons.

Genshin also surprised me at how good it is. I don't feel comfortable playing on my PC and my phone's too potato for it though, so I'm still waiting for the Switch version before really diving into the game.

>>743981 where do i find that? At the blacksmith in mondstadt? Sorry im very new lol i just unlocked co-op a few hours ago

>>743991 it's really good! Im dying inside with how much memory it's consuming on my phone but it's worth it! Does genshin do crossplatform in worlds?

>>743997 All craftable weapons are craftable from any blacksmith (it doesn't matter if you're in Mondstadt or Liyue). It requires a fair bit of materials if you're new, and you might not even have them if this is your very first day of playing.
I actually recommend rolling for some weapons first. 3-star spears will go a long way (I had a 3-star sword in some of my character when I first started), at least until you can craft/roll better ones.

>>743999 And yes, Genshin is cross-platform. The only barrier you have would be server barrier (you can't join worlds from Asia if you're in North America, for example)

>>744239 O yeah, generic sword, bow or accesory number 4563 that only character number 693 obtainable through gacha can wear and it's not even better than majority of your actual gear
Post number #744313, ID: 717fba

>>744298 As if BotW's equipment was any less generic. If anything, in Genshin it serves more purpose as enhancement fodder if nothing else, rather than breaking after 3 hits like in BotW. And you get at least 1 character for every weapon type for free, so someone will definitely be able to equip it. I understand your dislike of gachas, but Genshin is a game first, gacha second. Until you get to the endgame, but that's due to the current lack of content rather than anything else.

Goddammit are we still in the botw vs genshin impact argument? Which could be an interesting discussion of y'all aren't hell-bent in defending your favorite. This thing reeks of bad-faith arguments, fucking stop.

>>744562>>744575 I really enjoyed both games tbh, it's just that >>5cb1a1 can't contain their hate of gacha games. Which, to be fair, is quite understandable, but the arguments they provide are the stupidest hypocritical shit ever.

>>744609 I was just being a little fair calling a videogame a videogame and a gacha game a gacha game from this>>744216 But because this is a Genshin Impact thread I have to be the one who gets the hate because I tried to defend Botw (when I don't even like it to begin with) Thanks give more reasons to believe Gacha only ruin lives and make communities more distant.

>>744626 Defending BotW by attacking the other game (with, yet again, hypocritical and superficial arguments) is hardly the correct route to take here. Especially if you dislike both games like you said, and if you dislike every and all gacha games without even trying to listen to reason. Especially in a thread dedicated to one of these gacha games you just hate oh so much. I struggle to see any of your posts as anything other than a vapid cry for attention at this point.

Yeah, people. I get that you all have your own thoughts but let's show OP some respect. They wanted to tell us that they're enjoying the game and that's never wrong in my book.

>>744644 But did I ever show hate towards any of the games? No. Because I say I don't like them I hate them? No. I love many games and I still find many things wrong in them, criticism is good, if you don't accept it you are in the wrong Internet. (spoilers: there is only 1) and again, this argument wasn't originally by me (>>bd2578), I agreed with it because while 1 game does it bad, it doesn't lock content behind money luck like the other.

I don't support gacha games, games designed to consume and ruin the live of those who can't resist making purchases, games designed to not care about the health of any of the players with really bad quality choices under "oh a 5 star!". They are worse than a drug and you can't defend it by "but I don't waste money" because while sure, you don't, many others are wasting 1000$ a week.

I'm using crescent spear and with a energy recharge set still have elemental burst up on cooldown all the time, so it's no big deal what spear u use starting out anyway. Genshin is cool with how often it gets new quality content, but I am still waiting for something really special.

Mr. Can't let people enjoy things aside, cherish your early game time cos it gets repetitive and grindy around lv45. Until they give us a way to change artifact substats, it will take 4-6 weeks just to properly gear one character, and even as f2p you will likely have at least 15 very soon into the game. Tbh for best experience just play the story and events, and use resin to ascend characters, weapons and talents. It's the only things that give tangible returns unlike arti domains

>>744958 First, we are all misses here, second, looking aside the damage your enjoyment tool makes to others right? How cute! At least try to read before jumping to conclusions. Or ignore it completly like>>668dd1 did.

>>744958 more like enjoy the game right now until they ask for more money. Because if you spend 100$ to get current best SSR, 6 months later, they can just release a better character alongside with a harder dungeon, so that you have to pay another 100$.
