Anyone played Bravely Default 2 yet?

| How is it? From the demo it kinda looked like the first game but more, unfortunately it also literally looked like a 3DS game on a Switch. Does it get better? Worth the full price, or better to wait for a sale/get a second-hand copy?

| Huh. I knew it's not that popular, but damn.

| I guess that's why Final Fantasy moved out from being a turn-based RPG.
I only know of people who played the original because they were RPG fanatics, but I still haven't seen them talking about playing the new one.

| I can assure you, that the game is a turn-based RPG has nothing to do with its unpopularity. Yakuza LAD is turn-based and very popular even outside its regular fanbase.

I absolutely adore turn-based JRPG, but I *really* don't dig the art style of Bravely Default. The user interface also doesn't look very appealing from what I've seen (I'm a UI nerd). Can't speak for everyone else, though.

| Likely not many replies because the game just came out. Too soon to tell its worth until people play it through to the end. I personally haven't gotten around to it because of my backlog and money.

| >>744198 Maybe it's because is Yakuza, or because it's set in a modern Japan, the only other turn-based RPG that is relevant nowadays is Persona, many others fail or just are really obscure (like SMT and Bravely).
But everyone stopped talking about Yakuza LAD after 2 weeks, others like Pokemon (a game where majority don't care about genre as long as there is cute and cool mons doing flashy things) and Dragon Quest have last longer in popularity.

| >>744228 plenty of gamers have a short attention span. It's not uncommon for them to shift their attention to the next new game. Besides, those games still have their own fandoms talking about it when the general public moves on between trends. I know friends who still won't stop talking about Yakuza 0, and I've seen Clemps post a Bravely Default video that got people talking again.
