I have a chronic problem with not beating long RPGs and I really don't want to add to my backlog. Buuut, I really like JRPG, and I miss playing one. Anyone here have played Xenoblade Chronicles and would recommend it?
I'm thinking of getting the Definitive Edition on Switch btw.

It's good but it's REALLY fucking long though.
A streamer I follow just called a 14 hour FPS game "long" and I was just like... wut.

>>733174 Well, more or less typical "JRPG long", which is about 100+ hours. Probably gonna be way less if you skip on some, if not most, side quests, but then you might get stomped at some points in the story.

Actually, now that I look at it, Definitive Edition *allegedly* can be beaten a lot faster, at 50-80 hours. Which is much more manageable, but still quite long.

I haven't played the first one yet, but I've played XCX and XC2, and both of them are great games. I have the same problem as you so I have yet to finish either of them, but from what I've heard it's better than XC2, and XC2 is easily one of my favourite JRPGs of all time, so you should definitely give it a go.
It'll probably take a good 60 hours or so to get through it from what I've heard though, and if it's similar to XC2 when it comes to post-game content it has NG+ as well.
