I only played one of them(Lydiae and Sue), it's a moeblob happy-go-lucky RPG with a pretty awesome crafting system, not sure if all of them are like this Also in the one I have the characters all seem a little retarded

Good way to spend a year on one game, for the time-poor. The games are uniquely charming, peaceful, quaint. Pleasant, in a way you don't see in a lot of games. But it's a commitment to complete just one. Recommend you try one and see what you think. I really enjoyed Atelier Ayesha.

Pretty much what the above posters said. It's pretty long, but it's a chill game. The characters are anime cut-out pretty much, but they're charming.
On PC, I'd say Atelier Rorona is a good place to start.

>>563838 OP here. Decided to get Rorona on PC. The port quality is fairly disappointing, but the game itself is cute and comfy as heck. A bit too moeblobish, though, but that's alright.
