How could overclocking harm a device?

| Specially on portable consoles (Ps Vita and Switch)

| Overclocking generally produces more heat. Probably more heat than the cooling elements are prepared to handle, so stuff gets hot if you don't modify for sufficient cooling as well.
Prolonged overheating generally reduces the lifetime of (the components of) your device (due to physics), as it's worn down quicker.

| >>525117 as a vita pleb it shouldn't do too much damage just faster battery drain and more heat, the processer can actually handle what lolicon does to it since Sony under clocked the Vita CPU

| >>525282 that's actually good to hear (read) there isn't much information out there about it

| >>525382 there's a little bit but it's mostly relegated to the two Vita sub Reddits and a lot of stuff isn't super easy to search because of that, /r/vitahacks for general questions, use the questions thread first then make a post and mention you tried or you might get downvoted, and /r/vitapiracy for anything related to piracy basically, main sub has a bot with a good amount of word filters for piracy related stuff so just go to the other Reddit
