| Hollow Knight doesn't use pixel art, and the action is more careful and less twitchy, but I feel that same etherealness. The aesthetic is completely different, but the atmosphere, while not the same, is, like, siblings?

Transistor and Bastion for sure. They're not really pixel art, but kind of in the same vein.
If you want pixel art with amazing atmosphere that doesn't need to be similar to HLD gameplay wise, then check out Nykra. Full game isn't out yet, but fuck. That game looks incredible.
Also Crosscode. That's a really good one too.
