Gotta maximize possible enjoyment relative to cost for efficiency

That depends on what you value. Challenge? Volume of content? Emergent gameplay? You gotta be specific.

Hollow Knight. It's a huge, beautiful and unique metroidvania game. It costs like $10-12 and has more than enough gameplay to be worth the price. It has also gotten 3 pretty big, free expansions since release, and is getting another one soon.

Hollow knight seconded it's probably the best game I've played in a few years. Terraria/starbound has a good 50+ hours of planned content and way more if you like building stuff or multiplayer shenanigans. Monster Hunter is the best option if you're looking for triple A. Hundreds of hours of gameplay if you wanna make every item there and it's getting free new monsters and missions and items. Obviously the most expensive one though.

Hollow Knight fourthed. Tho, if you're not into hard games with the Souls taste, you probably won't enjoy it as much.

Maybe MGSV, if your level of autism is high enough. I invested 200+ hours and still did not beat the game. Also can recommend one amazing waifu bartending simulator, but you probably played it already.

Enter the gungeon is a great rogue like bullet hell with 4 playable characters, as well as 2 secret characters, it has loads of content, hundreds of weapons and items, both active and passive make many great synergies possible, and it only costs $15, I'd suggest watching a playthrough of someone's run to get a better idea of what I mean.

Gungeon and Nuclear Throne are both great.
I also fully agree with Hollow Knight, so much content in 10-12 bucks range.

>>325355 Yeah. Dodging into them is important. Another really important thing is that you should focus on staying alive, not shooting. You should focus on dodging and avoiding damage. Dealing damage should be secondary.
