Witcher 3 has naked body and sex scenes, but it's not the selling point of the game. They don't put those scenes in the trailer/cover/screenshots of their promotions. No one really say that they play wither 3 just because of the sex scenes.

I think the problem is more "Why should they censor it?" and not "How easy is it to censor it?". The problem people have with this is how straight up dumb it is to censor nudity. Especially now a days.
Nudity and sex is completely normal. Only reason people censor it is due to religion, or religious influence. A lot of people are not religious, or influenced by religion when it comes to stuff like that.

People also have different taste. I mean, if you look at anime, ecchi anime are still produced every seasons, even if you can just look up actual hentai anime/doujin.
Just look at Winged Cloud, those guys who produced sakura spirit, sakura gamer, sakura santa, and stuff. They are lazy as fuck, recycling art, they still get 10K+ per month from patreon.

I subscribe to Crunchyroll, and I do support the creators by doing that a lot more than I would if I used something like KissAnime. Those sites steal content and earn money on it. Crunchyroll pays the creators for having their content on their site. That's like saying "watching Netflix doesn't support the creators of what you watch". It does.

I'm going to be honest here though. I don't really care. Do I find the decision kind of dumb? Sure. But honestly I just enjoy arguing, as long as it doesn't get too serious/aggressive. That doesn't mean that I don't stand for what I said, but I had no real reason to say what I said except for fun.

1. Selling cashgrab games has no imminent lawsuit threat, at worst it will make zealous redditor and youtuber berate steam
2. Not all unity game are trash, they'll need to pick and choose, or they'll remove half of what they are selling. Even with VN, they seem to be overwhelmed to check all VNs for the mature content.
