Good FPS on linux

| I switched to linux, but can’t play the usual battlefield or CoD, and not enough storage for them. I want a similar FPS.

| Elona

| Is battlebit dead? I remember it was super popular for a bit there

I assume since you can't play you're after the multiplayer so I'm afraid I don't have much in the way of recommendations

Counter strike works fine but it's not really the pace you are after I think, maybe death match or gun game would scratch that itch a bit?

| Ultrakill

| Natural Selection 2

| They made FPS after CS 1.6? Why?

| maybe tf2? havent played it in well over a decade but i know a few people who still play and enjoy it and it's the closest thing i can think of with a similar pace (but the vibe isnt v similar, if that matters)

| There aint much
Am kill~

| Oh overwatch works if that's your vibe

| there metro 2033 and metro last light for free on archive.org

| If you want single player stuff most of them do work on Linux without issues it's really just if anticheat breaks it intentionally or not at this point

| >I switched to linux
Congrats.
>but can’t play the usual battlefield or CoD
I honestly don't know what title exactly is considered to be "the usual" battlefield or CoD. Aren't those big franchises with dozens of existing titles and coming up new titles all 3-5 years?
>and not enough storage for them.
Not a linux problem at all. In fact most linux distros need less storage for themselves compared to windows.
>I want a similar FPS.
I haven't heard of linux specific FPS issues yet.

| Regarding FPS, maybe check your graphics drivers. Usually steam takes care of it (I recommend the flatpak version).
There is a strange circumstance for older 3D games, which have compatibility issues with older graphic chips, even if they once ran smooth on an old windows system.
You may solve it by tinkering with proton versions or environment variables to disable vulkan compatibility layers in favour of deprecated d3d.
If possible make sure to get rid of nvidia GPU asap.

| Could you try bazzite? Stuff is supposed to work out of the box for it. Maybe not the most recent titles, but still

Heh. :) Tons of FPS games won't start on Linux due to kernel level anticheat. Valves own anticheat works on Linux because it doesn't run in the kernel (except on windows).

| >>1114300 Team Fortress 2 player here, the game runs pretty smoothly, and it's lots of fun!
I recommend it for all users of danger/u/

one of the developers of TF2 banned me for being too good. i'm not making this up. i played really well one night and got banned for cheating despite never having used any cheats in my entire life. lol

the ban got reversed but still

| >>1114558 just don'be too much of a tryhard teehee
Let this be a lesson for you
(Also I don't think your "case" is very common)
You got too good? Play casually or as a friendly, it's part of the fun

Retarded advice tbh

| >>1114521
I understand, storage is my issue, I didn't mean it as a linux problem.

I play games like Stalker and Bodycam no issue. I had no real problems with games from steam. But games with aggressive anti-cheat like CoD won't work, heck, won't even work on windows without secure boot.

I might try that new Wardogs game if it works, it seems to fit the bill.

| >>1114566 my g/u/rl in retardation, I've played TF2 for 2000+ hours (so I got them crazy good skills) and I've never been banned by Valve
You got skill issue tbh desu fr fr no cap + ratio + L + go play minecrap + I mog you

Lame

| Wardogs soon enough, ravenfield, battlbit remastered update eventually, Arma Reforger, NeoTokyo, Planetside 2, Roblox funnily enough is a great option

| Roguepoint, bodycam, insurgency
