if you'd like a lower budget 999 that takes it's ideas into a different direction and your willing to pirate.I'd rec The Parascientific Escape games that where on the 3ds eshop. The first game is pretty comfty and self contained. But the way the other two games develop relationship between Tsukiko, The mc of the first game and the Villan is what really sold me on it. if your playing the latter, you should look up a guide on how to get all the endings.

Absolutely LOVE Evergrace. Really weird old fromsoft game that like nobody has actually played and tbh I'm not even sure I did half the time I think about it. It's clunky, it's not explained well, and the lore makes no sense. All my favorite hallmarks of a fromsoft classic! It's an odd transitory period between shadow tower and demon souls. Very much not either, but shares many elements of both. Just don't go in expecting dark spuls style combat or production.

Winter Voices - the YIIK before YIIK. Rollcage - car-centric wipeout's brother (featurin Moving Shadow releases instead of Sony Music) Smashing drive - sort funny time attack game where you ride atop of statue of liberty in the end.

Less obscure but might have slipped your attention: Kingdoms of Amalur - solid action rpg Tyranny - average crpg with surprisingly deep metanarrative about what nature of power - specifically what it does to those who wield it (also law, you are supreme judge's apprentice). Also spells are crafted. Pathfinder: Kingmaker - very low stakes, local, grounded dnd story from start to finish, which is surprisingly rare.

>>1044594 You can tell they definitely ran out of budget towards the end of Tyranny, game was amazing but the last 20% and the ending was so lackluster
