| I stopped enjoying memes a few months ago. I realized they were occupying more space in my brain than I wanted them too, especially for how not funny a lot of them were. TBH they're psychological parasites that feed on our attention and intellect

| Gollum meme is funny currently. I'm still a sucker for neo doge and doge lore memes. I'm also old enough to have lived through all your base, peanut butter jelly time and Badger Badger.
| I think the thing is so many current memes are baked in irony or satire while what a lot of early memes had was enthusiasm. I can find appeal in new memes sometimes, but it's not quite the same as where online humor used to come from.
