Thought experiment.
You have a time machine and are going back to the year 2000 or y2K. What would you warn humanity about or try to change going back? You could go on a forum, give a detailed run down of the future or try to outright stop certain events?

Me personally I would want to prevent 9/11 cliche as that is, warn people of the negative side of the internet that evolves over the years, mention the 2008 recession along with the rise of political demagogues and how the net has reshaped the spread of extreme propaganda.
Also want to see if it would be possible to cripple the rise of big tech.

First I'll tell my father about his cancer so we can treat it before it's too late.
I'd buy stocks in companies I know will make it big so I can use my 1%-level income to change the world for the better.
I'd warn people about certain events like 9/11, COVID-19, natural disasters etc but I don't know how to do this convincingly. If I can convince people I have knowledge from the future I'll highlight the now occuring results of climate change and excessive corporate greed.

I don't really want to risk the chance to lose my memories and have to write a depressing pre-suicide last letter to those who've helped me.

>>942826 preventing 9/11 would be like preventing the Kennedy Assassination; the effects would be so huge that we can only really speculate.

With my acquired extensive historical knowledge get Hitler to take Poland before the Allies' guarantee, then prevent him from starting Barbarossa and also the mass murders thing, eventually somehow deal with his ass & push reforms before he can start some other shit up by replacing him with Schacht or someone sensible, then pull an extension of Molotov-Ribbentropp pact among other things to keep the USSR in its corner, handle the Allies then win the cold war with the Soviet Union
