>>933460 From personal experience, just come to terms with it (which it seems you have). When I found out I was autistic at an early age I didn't know what to do with myself and had a phase of paranoia and unnecessary anger. No one was there to help or guide me on what it meant for me.
It took a long time to finally become socially/mentally stable without compromising who I was. It's probably better you found out at an older age than younger.

>>933460 If I were you, I would continue living life how you have now knowing you've technically had a 'disadvantage'.
Oh, and smile and be more positive :)

>>933506 I don't actually think it's good finding out late. Obviously it depends on the individual and environment and stuff, but I was constantly yelled at, verbally abused and shunned my entire childhood for stimming, tics, not understanding tones and social cues, struggling with school, etc Having an early diagnosis could have prevented a lot of that trauma. Not trying to diminish your experiences or anything, just saying one ain't necessarily better than the other.

>>933523 You covered the side of the issue with discovering late. It's completely fair (and to a certain extent I had a similar experience as you at a young age with what you mentioned, although it seems you had it harder.) the point you've made.
Hopefully you have it better now.

I've been meaning to talk to a psychologist about that myself as well. Nearly every friend I have has some flavor of the spectrum, and I score high on all of the personal tests you can do. Haven't cared enough for a diagnosis though (and don't have health insurance to pay for it...)
