How does one become a shut-in exactly? I got pretty close earlier this year. I barely left my house for six months. Then my money ran out, and I had to go back to working in the real world again. I've been looking for work from home jobs for a while, but I haven't had much luck so far. This seems like a place that would have professional shut-ins, so I thought I'd consult experts to see if there's anything they recommend.

Be a parasite with no social life that all but the one family member who takes care of you is hated by everyone else. Be paranoid and schizophrenic with no personal desire to do anything other than to waste away in their room sitting on a computer that's falling apart. Don't care about anything modern or able to look forward towards anything else that's going on. In other words, become a living ghost that is able to rot away in a space that someone is willing to pay for. hikki 9yrs

Easiest way to get a remote job is becoming a developer(almsot any language really, just avoid crusty old cobol and other stuff only used by traditionalistic banks since those hate remote work)

You need: 1. Accomodating parent(s), that would at the very least feed you everyday 2. A PC/laptop + Internet access 3. A cheap hobby that requires you little to no money (like anime and video game)
If you have all those 3, running out of money should not be a problem because your pay 0$ to live. You do that until you get bored/depressed and kill yourself, or you starved to death because parent(s) died.

Of course your PC/laptop can break and that's why you to make money on the side. You can try doing cheap translation if you know a second language, draw furry porn, animate 3d porn, do voice acting if you are a female with a good mic, or... uh... you can scam people either by pretending to be a cancer patient, or just pretend to be a student who can't afford tuition fee. You'd be surprised at how generous people on twitter are.

I've witnessed a genshin player twitter account with less than 100 followers asking for money to pay for school and people actualy donated. Granted that you need to convince and retweeted by some people.

Are you people actually trying to be shut-ins or just using it as an excuse to avoid a job?

>>927531 I didn't specify in my original post, but I have OCD and a variety of other fun mental health things that manifest as me being a huge germaphobe. So going outside in general leaves me feeling pretty terrible, but I don't have much of a choice without money or a remote job. You're not entirely wrong about avoiding a job though, because I'm also a lazy fuck who would absolutely choose not to work if I could figure out how.

I've been working on figuring out if I have any family members who would accommodate me. But everyone I can think of would either make me pay rent, or would get pissed off at having to deal with the aforementioned fun mental health things and kick me out. So I may be fucked on that front.

In this economy being a part time neet is the best you could probably do. Welcome to the NHK would just have a homeless arc if it was today.
