Especially on social media? If it weren't for algorithms, trending tabs, and people who are easily baited into getting angry on someone's behalf/getting angry at someone doing stupid shit, these people wouldn't have even a hundredth of the power they *appear* to have.
People say and do stupid shit all the time online and offline, they're just ignored. It's like playing a lottery, eventually *one* asshole will be taken seriously.
