New to this site, what's the community like?

| I just found this site and I'm wondering what the community is like. Looks pretty good so far, though I am a bit worried due to the format resembling 4chan somewhat. Is there anything I should know going in?

| Nah, just lurk and ignore the trolls.

| it's very 4channy here & you should probably keep moving tbh

| >>890389
Don't listen to this loser. You're welcome here.

| >>890391 oh no, they're welcome by all means
i'm saying it for their sake

| >>70b6ad
Do you mind explaining a bit about what you mean when you say it's very 4channy here? Is it "there are tons of people here who make shitting on minorities their entire personality" 4channy or "There are some trolls who try to get a rise out of you and will usually move on if you ignore them" 4channy?

| I apologize if I'm wording this weirdly, not sure how to say any of this. I'm gonna go get some water, that'll probably help.

| >>890396 uh, the former? go read the nudes thread on /d/ lmao. apparently that's the kind of people maids want to have on this board.

| >>890398
The maids don't have preferences. They've been very vocal about not gatekeeping this site.

The trolls from /new/ aren't very happy about LGBT+ people though, but no one cares about their wants and needs.

| I'm having a bit of a difficult time finding the nudes thread. I'll keep looking though.

| >>9b1b49
I think /new/ is probably a board I'm going to avoid anyway simply because reading too much about awful shit that happens in the news is not good for my mental health.

| >>890401 got sidetracked looking for it in the archive, but here you go https://dangeru.us/d/thread/888218

| >>70b6ad
I will be sure to avoid /d/ as well. Site still seems better than 4chan at least.

| >>890421 can't really stop you g/u/rl, have fun

| Just don't get upset if someone says they fucked your mouth, it's a local tradition

| >>890402
There are so many samefags in that thread... it's sad.

| >>890426
Will keep that in mind, thanks.

| you might enjoy reddit more

| >>d800d0
I'm on Reddit already, but I thought something new would be nice and I happened to stumble on this website.

| >>890386

You should play the game "VA-11, Hall-a," and then decide if you would like to remain in this community.

| >>a8567a
What do you mean? I know this textboard is based on one from that game, but is there something else I should know?

| >>890450 you should just go and mfing play it if you haven't played it yet, because the game is good

| >>890450

Oh? That's a change. Most people who arrive these days don't know about the community's origins, and are thus surprised to either see people being openly lgbt (channer background) or openly shitposty (non channer background). As it is, the game was made by lgbt developers from a channer background, and the developer of this site themself falls under that umbrella, with many of first inhabitants (and their friends) being from the 4chan /g/ board in particular.

If you are alright with that, the website can either be a home away from home, or just another anonymous hell, just like its source inspiration. What we aren't is either 4chan or breddit, and our moderation policy tends to be along the lines of "if we think your post history is *only* being a cunt, are actively destroying threads with spam, or posting links to things that will endanger the site or its users, or anything else we think is unnecessarily offensive, you'll get wiped." Historically the anon further up is correct, though- we haven't had to do much in the way of gatekeeping except during an earlier period when the lone "supermaidmin" flat out quit and there was zero moderation. Those were cancerous times.

By the way, you can reply to specific posts by clicking the post number rather than the ID color. Its less confusing that way.

Welcome to danger/u/!

| >>890455

Also yes, the game is great, highly recommended, even at full price. A shame the sequel is still in dev hell for who knows how much longer, though.

| >>b17a81
Oh, that's cool! I haven't played the game and haven't heard much about it, I just found out that this is where the board is from while looking stuff up about the site. I'll have to play it sometime, it sounds fun.

| >>890465

^^ Hope you enjoy it!

| >>890472
Ditto. Have fun when you get around to it OP, it's always nice when people do.

| >>890396 it's more like the second, but they're more dedicated than that. when one of them gets in the mood to bait, it usually ends up with having at least one bait thread in every board, which is a lot for this site. luckily they also go away on their own even when they get a rise.

| 1. All is g/u/rl
2. All is gay
And that's all you need to know.
Have fun~!

| Been here a few years (apparently) and it's honestly been pretty nice. Some trolls here and there but you just learn to ignore them. Some genuinely thoughtful discussions, even.

| >>890457 now I'm scared about maids reading my post history. I thought it was all fleeting, like a fart in the wind. Well I don't think the occasional funposting would count as spam either way

| >>890729

Don't worry about it. There's a difference between fun posting and being a legit shithead who's only contributions to the website have been to antagonize and sow division under the pretenses of an overly self-righteous crusade.

And those people, for the most part, are trapped in /news/. Though honestly, the board has been better lately. (Not that the bar is that high to begin with.)

| Been here since this sites creation. Was here during and after supermaidmin left and all he'll broke loose. (I consider those times hilarious and at the same time worrying) but took
a break from this site/app for a long while. I'm glad the community was able to flourish
and stick around after all this time. It's a good place to hang. 4chan this is not but tbh
Modern 4chan is not even 4chan to an old fart like me lol.

| >>890818
>Modern 4chan is not even 4chan to an old fart like me lol.

big mood.

inb4 "/b/ was never good," so on and so forth.

| >>890386
Horny. Very horny.

| Been here for years, also in 4ch but only lurking game general thread that I am interested in

This place is more friendly, no pics, and you can generally have a meaningful conversation. But ifbwe are speaking about specific/biche topics, 4ch probably has more things to say and this place is more casual compared to it

| >>890745 gotcha

| >>890745
I'm not sure I agree with the depiction that I've been on some kind of self-righteous crusade. I just don't like it when bigots and fascist-sympathizers move in and try to turn our bars/communities into braindead echo chambers. These guys come in and spend all day shitposting/samefagging in threads they don't approve of. And people tolerate them because they don't want to cause division or drama.

| And then they become a regular and they bring their friends and then they bring even more friends and then you realize, oh shit, this is a political echo chamber now. And it's too late because they're entrenched and if you try to kick them out, they cause a problem and rally against the staff/moderators/maids whatever. So you have to shut them down. You have to nip it in the bud immediately.

| I know you maids are intelligent people. Smarter than me, that's for sure. So yeah, maybe you're right about me being a self-righteous prick. Fuck, I don't know. I've been trying to send good vibes troughout this site but they never seem to stick.

I wasn't aware a maid hated me this much so I'll back off and won't troll the trolls any more. I'll probably distance myself from this community completely in the future, except for Allanah's montly donation, she still deserves those.

| >>891136

? I wasn't even referring to you. The people I *was* referring to have either given up trying to post on the board, have mellowed out, or probably can no longer afford to spend the time posting threads anymore due to real world political situations (e.g, Russia).

I apologize if the post sounded like it was targeting you in particular, but that wasn't my intention at all.

| As an example, there used to be a regular who was so obnoxiously obsessed with communism that they would take every thread- and I do mean, -every- thread- and make it about anti-capitalism and communism in some way. This wasn't a problem until they started posting essays in threads that were about political situations that didn't involve capitalism/communism, until he wrote a mental gymnastic that he thought connected the two. And -then-, when people learned to ignore his posts (because even trolling him had gotten boring), he started crossposting outside of /news/, much to the rage of people who just wanted to discuss video games or hentai.

Some users called them the "commiegurl," but there's been a few on the site by that name and some of them aren't unhinged at all. But I digress- whatever beef we had was probably more a misunderstanding than anything else. That's why I took the time to explain our position when you asked about it in /u/ the other day.

| by the way OP, the best way to experience this app is with the games soundtrack. The music link in the app doesn't work anymore but you can stream it from here: https://garoad.bandcamp.com/

| I love sex.

| This site has a neat little culture where you perpetually feel like you missed the peak but it's actually fine for once instead of being some enormously sharp drop.

| 4chan is only one board among hundreds of others. Textboards and imageboards are just a form of (somewhat anonymous) communication.

Personally, I can recommend it as a comfy place. Sometimes chantards appear and make some mess with their bigotry or something, but they are a minority here.

| I love girls

| I'm a cunt, come have fun bitch

| Does the mades have a masterlist of what threads was created by whom? If so i feel exposed lol ive made threads that i'm not proud of

| Maids*

| This place is too slow which leads me to believe most users have down syndrome or something.

| >>892158
lmao, your brain's poisoned by social media

| >>1d5399 it took you over 6 hours just to type that? How do you not forget to breath? Does mommy tie your shoes?

| >>892192
