I get the tenses, it's useful to know if something already happened or will happen without having to be specific.
But why should I care if something is plural?? Like, it's either 1 or 1.0001 to 1 trillion billion, that's not useful at all! What's more, how is "everyone" singular?? It wasn't useful before and now it's just plain pedantry.

There's no singular/plural too in my first language, thankfully most english spakers don't care if you make minor mistakes like that unless you work in jouenalism or something related to legal documents.

if you're taking a walk in the woods and someone comes running towards you in a panic screaming "ANGRY BEAR", that's a pretty bad situation, but what's even worse is if they were instead screaming "ANGRY BEARS"

>>883596 MANY ANGRY BEAR makes more sense. BEARs adds a moment of confusion: do you say bear or bears? And with that hesitation you're already eaten.
Japanese grammar is bullshit. なければならない = you should

The best thing about English is that most people break its rules all the time and are still understandable
