i just want to vent out a bit about this. I've been watching youtube for quite a lot of hours a day for years, it used to be worse than it is now but it's still bad. I feel like a mindless body just absorbing whathever i see recommended and dont really get anything from it except that cool fact every once in a while. i don't know how to stop it and whenever i try to i really don't know what to do, I do go out quite often but the rest of the day is just spent in bed watching videos
I am also kind of like this. It is really bad. I think my problem is that I would sort of turn to youtube when I was bored but, also just to fill time from near unbearable boredom. As I grew up with very few friends in a hoarding house with severe social anxiety leading me to not talk to anyone at school for perhaps 5 years.

>>849315 I feel you, when i talk to people, especially when in groups, i can only talk for so long before i need to isolate, and without even thinking about it i unlock my phone and open something to just distract. it's scary how sometimes i open my phone for something important and my brain just goes autopilot and opens youtube, even if i hate how tight technology has a grip on us, i kinda can't do anything else

locking app under codes helped me, think of it as a "are you sure you what to waste time here?"

weaklings, weaklings, all of you. only after 16 hours of watch time per day that you are allowed to question your life choices. anything below that is just normal internet consumption, duh.

Find a hobby or something to do while you watch maybe. I watch a lot of hours of media too, but I'm drawing while I have that on

Matrix was right sheeple, on the real though your brain is now hardwired to social interactions without having to talk to or be seen by a meat bag.
I'd recommend getting into a vrchat discord and talk to randos as a pepperoni pizza slice.

Softmod your Wii and use YouTube on it. Do not use YouTube on any other device. https://wii.guide/ https://oscwii.org/library/app/wiimc
There you go, have fun with the 480p video!

You can add YouTube to ublock origin. Just make a custom filter that is *.YouTube.com/*
