| BL's main target audience is women, not men. Doesn't mean that men can't enjoy it, but it comes with the expectation that the characters and the story will be written in a certain way to suit the wants of the target audience.

| I try to look into all sorts of media, and genre in order to understand them and their appeal.
for example, I find listening Playboi Carti to be extremely annoying and dumb at first, but as I tried to understand the appeal, I sort of can listen to it now without cringing. I even vibe to it sometimes now.
Self-shipping was a real weird topic for me as well, but as I talk to people who ship themselves to various characters, I can kidna understand their sentiments now.
