The 1996 space jam website looks nice. Looks nostalgic to me, but it does remind me of cults a little

I always found old web 1.0 HTML pages have a really comfy, sincere, personal feeling to them. It's the modern major websites full of people lying to you, curated by opaque algorithms that I find creepy.

I find them a bit eerie, like the feeling of liminal spaces.

>>842343>>842377 more like those websites that are rare finds, lots of unused space talking about some obscure topic, or based on something random.

The reason is because they feel abandoned. Abandoned places were abandoned for a reason, and that makes our monkey brains go "brrr danger danger dangeru maybe?"
Also the government propaganda around piracy.

Jokes aside I miss 1.0 znd early era Web 2. A website felt like your own Internet home and we should start making more again.
I miss aesthetics, customization, flash buttons, Web rings snd each site feeling like a treasure trove to explore.

All these tech scumbags have no sense of art or taste. The web exists for two things in their mind "utility" and "Money" and that is the philosophy they are building this web 3 project upon.
Think of the difference between you want a cool car, so many choices but instead you just get Car(tm) and it's a grey block with wheels you get at the car(Tm) store house with 1000 matching car(tm)s and thats the philosophy of the modern internet.

PSA You can be the change you want to see join neocities Or simply host your own, a domain is like $15 a year and you can host a website off a raspberry pi, or cheese oracle cloud free tier
The only way to bring back web 1.0 is if you nerds build your own webzone

Raspberry pi's are that advanced?
Post number #843420, ID: 33e5dd

They just run an arm version of Linux so you can do basically whether you want
But yeah for years I kept a very basic website up just for image and script hosting, that was on a rpi 2 b+ I believe before they had Bluetooth and wifi even
