if anyone's interested i can teach u some filipino language. especially the cuss words. most filipino likes to joke around with foreigners about that. it would be a good precaution for you guys when you encountered some of my fellow countrymen.

>>840552 I’ve heard the Philippines described as the Mexico of Asia / SE Asia on the Internet. Can’t speak for other Americans, but I think it’s a country of decent people with a shit government like anywhere else. All the Filipinos I’ve met have been good people, I had an older female coworker who retired back in July and she was very sweet and even hosted some of us for lunch. Best friend from college is Filipino and I still see him when I can.

The Mexico of SE Asia refers to the general religiousness / Catholicism, hardworking and genial nature, and less developed economy than other industrialized nations in the continent/area, or at least that’s how I interpret it. I can’t say I know much else, but again nothing negative comes to mind

According to Wikipedia Filipino tomboys are masculine women who romantically date other women. Non-masculine women who romanticalle date other women are still considered straight. I didn't know that before.

Philipino cuisine is the absolute bomb! I once had the most delicious soup in a Philipino resturant and six years later I still haven't gotten over how good it tasted. I've been trying to find it ever since but it's nigh impossible because I don't even know the ingredients. I think it could've been something seasonal or local to that resturant because it didn't even have a name on the menu (they simply called it soup number 5).

Not Filipino myself, but two people dear to me are and oh my god the food. When I was a kid visiting a Filipino friends house, that food his mom would make, I don't think I've tasted anything like that since. I miss it.
as a pinoy, reading this makes me smile because it's like the same comment I get from my non filipino friends everytime they visit, lmao.
