Is there such a thing as "i don't have time"?

| People say they really want to do things but they're so busy that they dont have time.

But isn't it that when things really matter to you, you make time regardless of how busy you are?

So can "i don't have time" mean "it's not important to me" ?

| I don't have time for this

| >>836287 I always have time for you babe

| Yes.

It's not so much "it's not important to me" as "it's not as high priority as these other things." I know some people who work 12+ hours per day, sometimes 7 days a week, and so literally have very little time for anything else.

| No. It doesn't mean that.
Just because you don't have shit to do doesn't mean others don't, you know? A fair amount of people are genuinely very busy.
And, sure. Sometimes they may say that while they technically have time. But if they just worked their ass for hours and hours and then had to do some other shit and then a bit more and then be somewhere later and then wake up early the next morning, making time for you in there would give them no break and completely exhaust them.

| Because of people rationalizing like OP does, I've started just flatout saying "No." if I'm too busy. No explanation, no fuss. Otherwise, they starting probing you to figure out why you won't do something for/with them. That shit is annoying af. A simple "no, thank you" feels so much better. Helps you find the truly laid back people in your life.

| People need more time. Why do we have to work so much?!!

Capitalism. Work all the time and be miserable or work a healthy amount and die.

LMAO IT'S GABIDALISEM

| >>836491 thanks for the helpful insightful advice that's relevant to my personal situation. I'm glad that when my mental state is at it's absolute lowest I can always count on you to help me remember that it's all my fault and I should just be better (more like you)
