I mean, they're already dead right? So what's the point of celebrating their birthday?

Out of curiosity, do you also think it's weird that people celebrate fictional character's birthday?
It's always less about the person themselves, and more about how we can rally around the same date to discuss the same topic. The date is just a convenient tool to start conversations.

Usually the family has a remebrance in memoriam on that day. It's a convenient marker for notable historical figures, too.

Are you like... an alien trying to understand the function of human sentimentality? Or maybe an AI?
Anyways, welcome to Earth, amigo!

Isn't this normal in japan? Like you have a shrine for your deceased family member and give them beer and chocolate on special occasions.
Though i guess they're not poppin off party poppers and confetti.
I'm a big fan of those people that dance with the casket for funerals.

Watch casually explained on humans
"Human is the only species to have officially run out of things to do"
We just pretend to enjoy things. The more people pretend to enjoy the same thing, the easier it becomes. Stop being too aware, you're ruining our experience.
