I've gotten worse at socializing

| man i am just not able to look at social events as anything but an exhausting chore anymore. i'm at a christmas party which last year was fun but this year is frustrating and hard. i feel like i'm angry or sad all the time recently and i feel more angry and sad because i've been that way for a month. god i just want to go back to being mentally healthy.

| You know what I would recommend to myself if I were in your situation OP? This:
- Maybe you should take a little break from socializing? It seems like you're kinda "socially exhausted" I would say.

- Second, let your emotions flow, accept that you're angry and/or sad, but consider it mostly not your fault. Cause after all, if it were really on you, your emotions control, you'd have stopped being angry/sad a long time ago. So stop blaming yourself for it.

| - Third, with time for yourself and acceptance towards your emotions and yourself, maybe you'll heal your sanity at least a little.

- Lastly, I hope my advice brings you some help, I wish you good luck g/u/rl.

| >>814845 I mean I kinda have been taking a break from social life for a long time. but the other advice is useful plus it's nice to hear advice at all.

| I think what I really need is a break from my family. they stress me out more than my friends do. I'll need to wait until after christmas break for that though.

| >>814848 hahaha I think I might need a break from my family as well.
I'm glad you like my advice!

| Fuck the world
God is ned
Eat ass

There's a performative element to being around family, especially if there are expectations to be or act a certain way.

Breaks are fine but i would look at other aspects of yourself that have changed since last year.

Are you just cranky and need an anti-social nap or is there's something else up which makes such a drag to be around social functions.
