In essence you're going for a Pavlovian association of time spent with you = affection and good vibes. Once you achieve that, slowly taper it off and move into the "maintenance" phase of the relationship, with the goal of moving towards something more equitable.

| Ignoring the shortsighted manipulation advice, my advice would be two things - working on whatever problems you see in yourself because being confident and in control/knowing of yourself is good for both making and maintaining all kinds of relationships; and finding work you view as good (volunteering/community work if your job isn't something you believe in) to both meet/bond with people over and, again have confidence/a source of value in it
