does any of the armed forces or military g/u/rls use this board? I'm curious.
If you have an occupation where we'd think "wow i didn't expect someone who does so and so visits this board", Where yall from? What's your craziest experience either in training or at the field? Hell, even at your job? I'd like to know.

I guess for a more specific example, when i was flown on (at the beginning of my first deployment) the very first thing that my future best friend ever said to me was, "You want some bubble gum?" i said sure. he turned around and dug in his locker for a moment and turned around with his balls hanging through the slit in his boxers, and handed me some double bubble

Most memorable? yeah i got a good one. I was on an LHD, basically a modern light carrier with some amphib launching capabilities. and so because of that, there is a big hangar bay for most of the center

As a little bit more context, we use 'burn bags' for classified or identifiable paperwork so that it can be pulped or shredded. Someone has to take the shreds down to the trash room on the first floor right? well, they decided to just toss it off the catwalk above. >it snowed in the desert that day

I've never seen myself in the military, really, but during my junior year in high school, I realized I didn't know what I wanted to do with life, so my dad suggested the Navy. Post number #769076, ID: 2284a5

>>769073 Like with everything, there's pros and cons. Being a single g/u/rl, a lot of the cons of things like family separation isn't really affecting me, but that could be one to someone. There's not a lot of common sense, and a lot of things are done in a roundabout kind of way. But, you can meet some good people~. Plus with the Navy, you have more opportunities to travel around the world. But you're on a boat for several months at a time, but hey, life's all about sacrifices.

>>769083 wait for real? He's been trying to re-enlist for months now but his recruiter's being weird and it seems that it isn't being processed which is strange. I was thinking if this was an isolated case or if this is just the way the army wants him to give up because of his record
Post number #769103, ID: 2284a5
|
>>769098 That's right~ Most memorable moment...I guess getting underway for the first time! Or watching a jet take off from a carrier! There's a lot of memorable moments that are kind of mundane, but still kinda cool~ As for quitting...I'm weighing my options at the moment~ I can get a lot of IT-related certifications that are valuable outside of the Navy~

Post number #769280, ID: 2284a5
|
>>769195 There's a lot that happens to keep some of these boats moving, I think. A lot of moving components both literally and figuratively.
Some things I dislike about it, like I mentioned earlier, is the lack of common sense, the roundabout ways of doing things because "That's the way we've always done it" and the density and audacity of some of the people.
