Hey so I've been getting so stressed lately that I haven't been eating much and have been extremely nauseous to the point of throwing up and it's seriously affecting my life. I had to miss work the other day because of it and I'm just at a loss of what to do really

Hey g/u/rl, stress can be super hard to deal with. It might help if you actually said what you're stressed about though. If you're needing advice then it'd be best to actually share the issue so people can help you tackle it.
General advice though, rationalise the issue and don't be afraid to share. If you break down the issue and make sense of it, it can often seem much less imposing than you originally thought, and sharing your worries always helps them to dissipate.

>>759030 I love you <3
>>759015 And its just that work itself is stressful and I'm balancing that as well as my gf who is having a major depressive episode that's been going on for days now and I barely have any time for myself.

I'm pretty stressed right now too. I also had a depressive episode and missed a lot of school, and I'm at risk of getting kicked out of the college. But knowing I'm having the same problem as another cute g/u/rl helps!

>>759034 Well technically I was off yesterday since I felt sick I guess it's just that I feel my gf is practically a second job right now essentially. Not that it's her fault at all though.
>>759048 Aww I'm sorry to hear that, I hope things get better for you and I'm glad this post helped <3

gotcha. of course, this isnt going to work for everyone, but i like to take 2 days off. one day for a biiiiig sleep. just waste it. dont get out of bed before 1. then the next day to do whatever you need to do. it doesnt work if you just do it on the weekend though

>>759093 Oh I see. I dont really like sleeping late though but I need to find a way to have time to myself honestly. And right now I'm going to help my gf get a therapist because she needs it really bad.

Seems like you know reasonably well what you're doing OP. I'd say go through with helping your GF as her health should be a priority to you. Make sure the two of you openly discuss her issues and how to tackle them. Knowing that you're both on the same page makes it much less of a struggle. I've had to deal with the same situation in the past with an ex and with friends, and talking about it always makes it feel way less like the world is against you and the walls are closing in.

If you've got a trusted HR person or manager at work then let them know how you're doing and that you've got a lot on. It won't make work any less present in your life, but it might help to ease some of the pressure of being there.
Of course only do this if your workplace is the kind of environment that you feel safe doing so in. I know not every business and every country has the same work culture, so just use your own judgement, I trust you.

Lastly, set some time aside for yourself wherever you can. Even just one hour a night maybe after your GF sleeps, or when you can trust her to be on her own and call you if she needs something.
Just spend that little bit of time each day doing whatever you enjoy. Whether it's a hobby, playing games, catching up on your favourite TV show, anything.
Make sure that amongst all this caring you don't forget to care for yourself.
You'll get through this OP, I trust in you.
