I can see why people would feel a need to talk shit on vanilla in places where kink is itself shamed and isolated. Community bonding and making attacked people feel better. But on the internet today, all sorts of what we'd have seen in the past as kink is at least ironically mainstream, so there's not even the defense of "punching up" at this point
