Right now I'm reading The Way Of Kings of The Stormlight Archive Sags by Brandon Sanderson because a friend of mine, recommended it since the saga it's her favourite. I'm halfway through it and can't believe how quick I got through 600 pages...
What about y'all?

I'm partway through Don Quixote, Underworld by Don DeLillo, and about to finish American Gods. I tend to be reading a few different books at any given point in time.

>>753323 Stormlight Archive is SO GOOD. I'm always glad to hear someone reading it. I'd say the first book is the slowest of them, so if you still like it then, you'll love the rest of the series.
And, huh, I'm not currently reading any books. I got halfway through The Unspoken Name by A. K. Larkwood, I should finish it. It's not very remarkable, but it's a fun fantasy novel.

>>753379 I'm really liking it, and probably would say it's the most fun I've had reading in a year... and even then I already bought till Oathbringer because by some loophole of capitalism it was cheaper to buy all three books at once than just the first one on Amazon.

Currently struggling with Moby-Dick. The fact that English is not my first language doesn't help at all man, this stuff is insanely hard to digest. I'm seriously considering dropping it wich is rather disappointing, but oh well. It doesn't look like I'll get much joy from fumbling with it anyway

>>753543 Old books tend to be harder to read and Moby Dick is especially dense, so please don't feel bad about it! You don't have to push yourself to read it if you don't like it (unless it's for a school assignment or smth, in which case, ouch)
Wait till you read about the Cosmere if you haven't already. All other Brandon Sanderson's fantasy sagas including that one are interconnected on the same universe.
I recommend reading Mistborn and Warbreaker (standalone novel, and IM O the best one from sanderson so far) before continuing with the stormlight archive.

>>753543 If you want to read some American lit and Moby Dick is a bit too archaic, get yourself some Steinbeck. East of Eden is the best novel I've ever read; I'm not a very emotional person generally speaking, but I cried twice reading that book.

>>753579 Hell yeah g/u/rl! First 5 books of Horus Heresy are the best ones in the entire series imo. Horus Rising may not seem so good right from the start, but it gets way better later on. False Gods, Galaxy in Flames and The Flight of Eisenstein are my absolute favourites. The Istvaan though.. oh man the feels.. Ah! Before I say too much, are you, perhaps, new to Warhammer? I better shut up then, don't want to accidentally spoil stuff for you

>>753561 Yeah, the plan is to eventually read all cosmere, my friend who told me about the Stormlight Archive has also insisted on me reading Mistborn and the other works of Sanderson

>>753543 If I recall correctly even English natives struggle with Mony Dick, so don't feel bad about it g/u/rl, take your time to understand it

>>753561 Actually I think I've had my fill of Sanderson and would rather not read any of his other series, haha. I got other authors in my waiting list.
The latter books in Stormlight kinda annoys me because I think there's a bit too much reference to the rest of the Cosmere? But I guess that's on me for refusing to read the other series.

>>753612 Oh well, here we go False Gods is a very intimate story, the way I see it. It creates such a great foundation for all the heartbreaking atrocities that will happen in the next books, it's like 'Here, look at these Luna Wolves captains! Don't they have such a nice bond with each other, hmm? Just look at how great of a characters they are!'[/spoilers]

[spoilers]And you look at them, you instantly fall in love with the way members of Mournival coexist with each other, you really get to love all of 'em boys, and the very moment you do that the story forces you to watch them suffer and die in a most horrible way possible, betrayed and forgotten. Istvaan III massacre and the way it is depicted in the Galaxy in Flames is tragic and crushing enough on its own, but False Gods creates such a nice undertone to it that is just..[/spoiler]

perfect. I've felt so heartbroken during Istvaan III because of these two books that I've literally cried during my first read. Never would have thought I'll get too emotional reading anything WH related, but oh well.. Horus' transition into a Chaos fuckboy was interesting enough as well, especially the Nurgle encounter part, but as I have already said, that's not what makes this book so good imo

To sum things up, I don't think that False Gods, or Horus Rising for that matter, are good enough books on their own, but they're very important to all the shit that is about to happen after them. There's not much to spoil about it though as not a terrible lot really happens in this one. The Galaxy in Flames and Eisenstein though.. boy oh boy. What a ride these two are!
