I spent about 6 months unemployed last year. I quit the job that had been slowly killing me over the course of a few years at what turned out to basically be the very start of covid panic.
Was nice for a bit, then started to get maddeningly dull, and since I'd quit I couldn't apply for unemployment bux.
Bounced around between odd jobs for a little while after savings started running low, and now I'm finally in a job that feels like a place I'll be for a while.

It's nice to hear that everything has turned out to be more or less fine for you, g/u/rl! Thanks for sharing your experience here. I hope I won't have to stay in this position for much longer either, but, oh well.
